Mike McDermott

"Mike" McDermott is currently in his second elected term as the Mayor of Pocomoke City, Maryland. As Mayor, Mike has cut taxes and improved city services for 5 straight years.

In addition, Mike is in his 28 th year of law enforcement service. His is the former Chief of Police of Snow Hill and is currently the Commander of the Investigative Division of the Worcester County Sheriff's Office. Mike has been recognized on numerous occasions for his management style, heroism, and actions taken above and beyond the call of duty.

Prior to becoming Mayor, Mike also managed the family poultry farm in Willards.

Mike and his wife, Laura, have been married for 27 years and have two adult children. Their son, Nate, recently graduated from Virginia Tech and is now serving as a 2^nd Lt. in the US Army. Their daughter, Amanda, attends Salisbury University and will graduate next year with a B.S. in Media Communications with a focus in Production and a Minor in Theater. Mike and Laura also have a Bichon Frise (French for "expensive white dog") named Digby.

For relaxation, Mike enjoys the outdoors (fishing & hunting), as well as landscape projects around the house.
